Test the corona sitting at home

The US drug regulator - the Food and Drug Administration (US - FDA) approved a home corona testing kit in November 2020.  At the time there were cases of Corona Invasion slowly increasing.  The government allowed home test kits to facilitate corona testing at home.  In India too, more than three lakh new patients are coming forward every day for the last 10 days.  I.e. the highest in the entire world.  Active cases are also on the rise.  India lags behind the US in terms of total patients.  Amid rising numbers, the Covid Task Force has recommended a total lockdown across the country.  In such a scenario, this home test kit could prove to be a game changer for India.  Let's find out if this is a test kit.

What are its advantages?
How can its use in India help prevent corona How does this kit work?  This test kit works on the lateral flow test.  You put a sample taken from your nose or throat into a tube.  This tube is pre-filled with a liquid.  The tube is placed inside the kit where there is a pad that absorbs the liquid.  Through this pad the liquid goes to a strip where there are antibodies already recognizing the spike protein of the coronavirus.  This antibody is activated if you are suffering from coronavirus and the kit shows your test positive.  There is a display on the kit where the result of the report appears.  The report can also be viewed on your email or on the app that makes the test kit.

What are the benefits of this kit?
The test will be done sitting at home.  This will keep people out for testing and reduce the risk of spreading the infection.  s RT - This test kit is cheaper than PCR or any other test.
Is.  You can test yourself.  No medical expert or lab needed.  • • Test report is available in 15 minutes to half an hour.  It takes less than a day for the report of the RT-PCR test to be done in the lab.

What are the disadvantages of this kit?
0 Testing at home will make it difficult to monitor the number of infected patients.  Those who test positive will not give correct information out of fear.  s Compared to the medical expert, there will be a risk of difficulty in taking the sample itself, which will also affect the result of the test.  હો Home test kits have lower accuracy than lab tests.  This is why the wrong result is more likely to come.  If an infected person's test result is negative, it can infect other members of the household.
Why the need for this kit?
Rising cases of coronavirus have led to a lack of health facilities.  Wherever cases escalated, doctors began to face problems such as lack of beds in hospitals.  At the same time, a large number of medical experts are engaged in testing patients.  If Corona can be tested on its own, reliance on medical experts will be reduced and it will be useful in other work.  At the same time you have to go to the hospital or any other place to get any test done.  This is not safe considering the risk of infection.  If it can be tested at home, the spread of the infection will slow down.

Are these kits available in India?
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has issued guidelines on April 27.  It said the kit, which has been approved by the US, the World Health Organization (WHO) and five other countries, could be used in India.  He does not need to seek permission from ICMR separately.  The ICMR has also asked the companies to link all the data from the software or app to the Corona's central portal to monitor the test results so that the data is not tampered with.
